Archbishops pray with gang leaders
The
Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, Thabo Makgoba and the Catholic
Archbishop of Cape Town, Stephen Brislin, visited Manenberg on Friday
18-05-12. A gang war had been raging there in the last week and a
number of people were injured or killed. The two archbishops visited
the leaders of the rival gangs, the Hard Livings and the Americans and
prayed with them that the leaders may become men of peace and
instruments of change in their community. The archbishops were
accompanied by priests from both denominations and also visited an
injured child and two bereaved families to offer prayers, support and
condolences.

 | "From Darkness into the Light"
Marino Restrepo, a Colombian layman was a professional musician who
lived the celebrity lifestyle of promiscuity, drugs, dabbling in the
occult and New Age philosophies until Christmas night 1997 when his
life changed dramatically. He was kidnapped by guerrillas and held in
captivity for months in unspeakable conditions, in constant fear of
being killed. At the end of his endurance he turned back to the God
he'd known in his childhood days and the rest of the story of his
mystical experiences you will need to hear for yourselves. It's a
remarkable testimony to God's love and mercy, which has changed Marino
into a fulltime Evangelist. He has been given the mission by Our Lord
to share his experiences with the world, bringing mankind back to God.
In Cape Town we will have the wonderful opportunity of meeting him and
hearing his message. Do not miss out. Come and hear it for yourself!
